In 1972, after Earl Beard was made redundant from his job; with the help of his wife Billie, in a rented building, with a handful of sewing machines and three month’s severance pay, they both created Earl’s Apparel with the notion of making high quality, durable garments.

More than 40 years on, in a climate where many large scale US companies outsource their production to offshore factories, the Stan Ray brand, named after Earl’s youngest son, remains true to its roots, producing all garments in the family owned and run factory in Crockett, Texas, USA. Today the same attention to detail, specifications and quality adorn each garment, for which Stan Ray is renowned for its reliable staples for everyday wear.

An exciting addition to Monk House Design is the Stan Ray Painter Pant which the company now offers in an updated womens cut.

As with the original painter pant, the new womens cut features multiple utility pockets, a relaxed, straight leg and sturdy seams. These pants wear well, are affordable and well thought out.
