New spring/summer collection from superb New Zealand label, Penny Sage is bursting with bright light and sunny joy. The collection features an eclectic use of pattern and print, block colours and striking silhouettes - lifted from different points in history it feels - just like fragments from a story book. This idea is connected through the title of the collection ‘Novella’, the word defined as a short novel or long story. However you look at it real adventure, new moments and resulting stories can take place in a PS piece. Here in-lies the magic of the label, creating high quality, dream worthy pieces that can take you places, even if it’s only in your mind or between the pages of a good book - read in a sun soaked spot on the grass.
Contained in the collection is over 3 completely different patterned prints. Here at Monk House Design we kept your job simple, and opted for the luscious green/yellow/blue tartan print - used wonderfully for the Flaneur Trouser, which is a sweet flared cotton pant with two front facing pockets and invisible zip closure, able to be paired with just about any colour on the colour wheel, these pants will be your shining light and guide through the upcoming summery season. If your into more neutral shades, or block colours never fear, the Flaneur Trouser also comes in Brick Red and Black linen. Thinking about block colours and simplicity - we welcome the return of the ever popular Dreyfus Jean, coming in indigo denim with cream contrast stitching and corozo nut buttons. A classic straight cut jean, which will have you up, ready and out of the house in no time! Pair with any tee from the bedroom floor for maximum, devil may care attitude… Equally exciting is the Dreyfus Short, coming in a cotton corduroy, in Cornflower Blue and Saffron, these poppy colours are easy to mix with simple basics, for a fresh and upbeat summer you.
The label has also released a new take on the classic ringer style tee, which has us jumping for joy, we have finally found “it”! It being the perfect, low key everyday t-shirt that we can tuck into high waisted clothing without the associated bulky silhouette, looks good on most, and features longer sleeves and a high neck for versatility with jumpers, cardigans, shirts etc. Coming in three sweet shades, there is sure to be a way to make it your own.
Important in the lead up to summer is to have a knockout dress or jumpsuit you can pull out in event season. This collection provides all the answers with the Yrsa Jumpsuit, which is an incredibly flattering flared leg, floor length sleeveless jumpsuit. Featuring an elegant slit at the back and big twist tie detail at the front. Coming in a Black, Oatmeal linen and hopefully for us(!) the luscious tartan check print - it’s dreamy, floaty and perfect for any serious or seriously fun events you have coming up. Due to its forgiving shape it’s an investment for the future - to be kept in your wardrobe for many years to come. If the whole jumpsuit thing isn’t for you, there is the Yrsa top available in Black linen - which features the twist top half of the jumpsuit, without the pant part! With an open back, elegant wrap detail and cropped length, it’s a cute piece to mix and match with pieces you have at home.
