We're pleased to welcome DORO back this season with their second collection called ONEOF. This AW17 collection, as Nancy puts it "was inspired by travel memories of spending cold European winters layered up, and of people watching in Tokyo. I wanted to incorporate the practicality of layering for cooler weather—with vests, jackets, scarfs and beanies—with items that were versatile, unique and playful."
As always the designer Nancy Coffey from Melbourne, seems to keep each collection from DORO playful and full of light, in saying that this particular range keeps its values strong on the Slow Fashion movement. In ONEOF, broken down to be 'one of x amount' where each piece is produced as a limited run, "the main idea behind creating a limited amount of each piece was to reduce waste and excess" says Nancy, giving her consumers exclusivity of the product.
Whilst DORO's debut collection from SS16/17 was bright with the use of pop primary colours, ONEOF is muted and understated—yet still fun. We see the use of warm pastel fleece sweaters and beanies, with a unique wool featuring a silver sparkle pinstripe in the adaptations of DORO's signature skirt, dress and pant.
