In 2012 Base Range began with the ambition of making timeless basics in a sustainable and affordable way - bridging the gap between sports wear and lingerie. Collection after collection it is apparent that the brand works with small, family run factories, maintaining relationships with makers that hold similar values and incorporating them into the brand’s progression.
Designers & friends Marie-Louise Mogensen and Blandine de Verdelhan created a project that works around being yourself and feeling confident, with a line of clothing and lingerie that elevates everyday wear into something exciting, interesting and with a tangible story. Whether it be wearing a soft bra during the day and noticing how comfortable the material is or relying on a tee or apron dress to factor into your day to day life, Base Range provides articles that are not only ethically made, but feel and look special.
Each campaign and look book features influential and powerful women, which is a perfect representation of the brands ethos around working with images and stories of women. The images are untouched and personal, producing a project that is conceptual, while bringing a strong voice forward in a competitive and saturated market.
The new season from Base Range brings in store some reliable and simple basics that can factor into your collection, carrying you among seasons. Stand out pieces from the collection are the 100% cotton knit’s from France in bright colour ways and the detailed organic cotton gaze, made in Portugal with embroidery depicting the border between Iraq and Syria.
‘Buy less, choose well’ is the message that comes with the brands progression, making a space for people to carry their own identity and beliefs and the encouragement to embrace one's self.
