A girl from the west wanders through the street markets of Yau Ma Tei marked by signage in a different
language to her own and experiences encounters with both people and objects foreign to her. Combing street
and fashion, photographer Sam Wong interprets clothes from Local Melbourne designers set against the
urban landscape of Hong Kong at dusk in this latest editorial for Monk House Design.
The story is told through the models dealings with the shock of a new culture as she
experiences feelings of alienation and language barrier. She finds herself having her palm read by a
man and is lost in what seems like a railway entrance. Wearing the newest pieces from SS15/16 at
Monk House Design, she disappears into the next cinematic boulevard in a city that never sleeps.
