Dress Up is one of Melbourne’s most iconic labels renowned for subtle, graceful and feminine clothing.
Conceived in 2006 by designer Stephanie Downey after completing a Bachelor of Arts Fashion at RMIT,
the label has received accolades for creating clothing that understands the female figure and has been
described by NO Magazine as clothing for ‘the girl who thinks.’
Dress Up’s most recent SS15/16 collection Paper Skies explores nature’s beauty through the striking
Orchard print. “If nature ever showed her playfulness in the formation of plants, this is visible in the most
striking way among the orchids”- Jacob Breynius. This collection is both delicate and resilient, incorporating
papery pleats in strong, clean silhouettes, gentle cowl collars with delicate zip openings and linen rib knits
that are simultaneously diaphanous and chunky.
Paper Skies, through the use of luxuriously simple Japanese fabrics, explores the essence at the heart of
Dress Up; emotion, artistry, classicism and above all beauty.
